Beautiful piece. My only suggestion would be to change the term "Meeting for Worship" to "Meeting for Service." This could help non-theists feel more included in the conversation.

I can understand were you are coming from Robin, when people start to question were the source of there insights are coming from.spirit, divine, god, ect, perhaps it is time to change the title from meeting for worship to,meeting for communion?. Then we may be free to experience without to much baggage.A British Friend.

Robin's description of Friends gathered into Meeting is beautiful. Recently a Friend at Harrisburg suggested that the true divide in Meeting is not between Christians and Universalists/Non-theists but between those who have experienced a gathered meeting and those who have not. I think there is some deep truth in this for Harrisburg Meeting. This description of the depth of Being in Meeting and the Presence to be found there speak volumes about the depth and breadth of Robin's Spirit. The language we use to describe our experiences of depth and breadth will always fall short of the experience. May we continue to find each other gathered in the experience!

I have always found my experiences at gathered meetings to be deeply transformative of my mood and my consciousness. Unlike you, I do believe that there is a divine presence at work that leads to a meeting becoming gathered, although I am not traditionally Christian in my outlook and would not use Christian language to describe what takes place. I have often felt amazed at how in tune I felt with my own musings and the ministerings of those who spoke in meeting.
